Escape to Paradise: Anna Studios – My Corfu Dream (Almost!)

Okay, so lemme tell you, planning a getaway to Corfu felt like wrangling a flock of seagulls. Endless possibilities, a dizzying number of options… You're scrolling, comparing, you're cross-eyed! But then, bam! Anna Studios. And the website promised… well, paradise. Let's see if it delivered, shall we? This is my honest take – the good, the slightly less good, and the "oh-my-god, I NEED that again" moments. Buckle up, buttercups.

The Location & First Impressions: Paradise Found (Maybe… with a Slight Glitch)

First off, Corfu's gorgeous. Let's get that out of the way. Anna Studios – from what I could tell from the slightly fuzzy map on the website – are ideally located. Okay, okay, I'm being dramatic. The location was pretty darn good. Close enough to buzz around to the main attractions, but far enough to escape the hordes of tourists that descended on other hotels.

The Accessibility – well, the website was a bit vague. No specific mention of ramps, but the presence of an elevator was a promising start. Gotta investigate further next time - I’m getting older and a flight of stairs is not my forte. I did see a few families with children, so it had that vibe of being Family/child friendly.

Check-in was thankfully Contactless check-in/out, which really worked for me as someone who loathes unnecessary human interaction after a long flight. The Front desk [24-hour] was reassuring, though I didn’t need them.

My Room: Home Away From Home (With a Few Quirks!)

Wow, you actually get a good amount of features for your money, especially looking at the Available in all rooms! list. I mean, Air conditioning? Check. Free Wi-Fi? Wi-Fi [free]? Double check. And even something as simple as having a Window that opens? Bliss! I remember staying in a hotel in London and nearly suffocating. (Shudder).

I went for a studio, which had a Refrigerator (key for sneaky midnight snacks and keeping my wine chilled), a Coffee/tea maker, and a Desk which I used, surprisingly, for some work. It's a rare and wonderful thing these days to have a proper dedicated work space. The In-room safe box was reassuring, though I admit I'm the kind of person who hides things outside the safe anyway, just in case.

The bathroom had the essentials: Shower, Toiletries, and a Hair dryer. I was a bit disappointed there was no Bathtub, I'm a sucker for a long soak. You get Towels, of course. And some rooms even have Interconnecting room(s) available, which is great if you’re traveling with a family.

But here’s where things got a teeny bit messy. My room? Let’s just say, the Daily housekeeping – which, bless them, was very thorough – may have missed a few cobwebs in a corner or two. And, despite the listing claiming Non-smoking rooms, the lingering aroma of… something (definitely not fresh laundry, bless me)… was undeniable. Not a deal breaker, but something to improve on.

The Real Paradise: That Damn Pool!

Alright, now for the good stuff. Seriously good stuff. The Swimming pool [outdoor]? Glorious. Absolutely glorious. It has a Pool with a view - the pictures don't do it justice. The way the sun hits the water… I swear, I spent a whole afternoon just staring at it. It was the perfect mix of lively but chill. I definitely needed the Poolside bar!

The spa? Oh, the spa… sigh. The Sauna was steamy bliss, a cleansing ritual. And the Massage. Forget it. It's worth booking Anna Studios just for the massage. I think I’m still relaxed. Body scrub, Body wrap – they offer the full works. I felt like a new person!

Food, Glorious Food! (And Maybe a Little Disappointment)

Where to start? Breakfast [buffet]? Yes, please! I piled my plate high with deliciousness. Western breakfast was available, but so were Asian breakfast options which was a treat, something you don't often find. The Coffee/tea in restaurant was also very handy and I’m so glad about the availability of the Bar!

I had a couple of meals in the Restaurant(s). The International cuisine in restaurant was decent, but on a couple of occasions I felt the quality dropped. The A la carte in restaurant option was good and it could be nice to have a Vegetarian restaurant onsite, but this might not be the best place if you’re a strict vegetarian.

I was very happy to have a Room service [24-hour]!

Things to Do & Ways to Relax (Beyond the Pool)

Okay, Anna Studios is great for chilling, but it's also got some other perks. They have a Fitness center if you're actually into that kind of torture. And I saw evidence of Meeting/banquet facilities and Outdoor venue for special events, so if you are planning a wedding or business trip, then this could be a good shout.

There are a bunch of Things to do listed, and I did make use of the Car park [free of charge] as, again, I find it a bit much to rely on others to get me to explore the nearby beaches.

Cleanliness & Safety: Feeling Safe & Sound

Despite my slight qualms about the dusting in my room, I did feel safe. There are CCTV in common areas and a Security [24-hour]. And in these uncertain times, I appreciated the focus on Cleanliness and safety: Anti-viral cleaning products, Daily disinfection in common areas, and Hand sanitizer everywhere. They even had a Doctor/nurse on call. A little heavy handed perhaps, but at least they care.

The Little Things & Some Quirky Observations

  • Internet access – wireless and Free Wi-Fi in all rooms! was solid. Didn't drop out once. I did appreciate that there was Internet access – LAN, but I don't know why, I never used it.
  • They had a Convenience store. Which was super handy for emergency snacks and sun cream.
  • The staff were, without exception, lovely. Friendly, helpful, really made the experience wonderful.
  • They offer a Cashless payment service. I'm still surprised these things aren't standard.
  • They’d even thought of extra little touches, like a Bottle of water on arrival.
  • The lighting in the bathroom was a bit dire. I needed a spotlight on my face to shave.
  • The little Terrace was perfect for late-night chats with my friends, and they were very happy about it.

Okay, so it’s not perfect. It has its quirks. But the location, the pool, the spa, and the general vibe of relaxation? Absolutely worth it.

My Honest Verdict & a Compelling Offer!

Anna Studios, Corfu: My (Messy, Glorious, and Possibly Slightly Sunburnt) Odyssey

Okay, buckle up, buttercups! This isn't your glossy travel brochure itinerary. This is real life, Anna Studios style. Which, let's be honest, probably involves me losing my sunglasses in some crystal-clear water and yelling at a stubborn donkey at some point. But hey, that's the fun, right?

Day 1: Arrival, Anxiety, and the Azure Embrace

  • Morning (or, let's be honest, slightly after noon): Arrived in Corfu. Holy. Smokes. The airport was a delightful chaos of luggage, families yelling in a dozen languages, and me desperately trying to find the pre-booked shuttle. (Spoiler alert: it took almost an hour, and I'm pretty sure the driver secretly hated me for asking "Is this the right bus?" five times. Jet lag is a wonderful thing.)
  • Afternoon: Anna Studios! Found it! (After failing miserably with Google Maps, of course.) Maria, the owner, is a whirlwind of sunshine and broken English. She ushered me into my room, which, despite my slightly manic fears, was absolutely charming. Think whitewashed walls, a tiny balcony overlooking the pool, and a bed I promptly crashed on for a solid hour. The jet lag was winning.
  • Late Afternoon/Evening: Dragged myself (barely) to the beach. Pale skin, bad hair, a swimsuit I hadn't worn in years. But the water. Oh. My. God. The water was a shade of blue I didn't think existed. I waded in, feeling instantly lighter, and promptly forgot all my pre-trip anxieties. Pure bliss. Dinner at a taverna nearby. Tried to order "Greek Salad," but my brain decided to go blank. Ended up pointing randomly at things on the menu. It was delicious, though! And the local wine? Let's just say I slept very well.

Day 2: The Donkey Debacle and the Fisherman's Feast

  • Morning: Breakfast on the balcony! Fresh bread, local honey, and the sound of cicadas. Heaven. Tried to channel my inner artist and sketch the view. Failed. Miserably. My drawing looked like a toddler had attacked it with a crayon. Gave up and ate more honey. No regrets.
  • Mid-Morning: Decided to rent a scooter (because, when in Greece, right?). This was my first mistake. The scooter was a temperamental beast. I wrestled it around the tiny village, nearly taking out a cat (apologies, Fluffy!), and ended up getting lost. Found myself on a dusty track, face-to-face with a donkey. A very stubborn donkey. We had a staring contest. He won. (I'm convinced he understood my pathetic attempts at speaking Greek.) This encounter set the tone for the rest of the day.
  • Afternoon: After abandoning the scooter (and my dignity) I somehow managed to find a secluded beach. This was the good part of the day. The water was unbelievably clear and warm. Spent hours swimming, reading, and letting the sun bake away any remaining stress. Decided I could get used to this "vacation" thing.
  • Evening: The real highlight. Found a tiny, family-run taverna on the coast. It overlooked a tiny harbour, and the sun setting was incredible. Their fresh fish was the best thing I've ever eaten. Seriously. Melt-in-your-mouth perfection. I swear, I could taste the sea in every bite. Ended up talking to a local fisherman for hours, learning about his life and the magic of the island. Definitely the place I lost my sunglasses.

Day 3: Hiking Hell and Hidden Gems (and Maybe More Wine)

  • Morning: Decided to be "active." Stupid decision. Attempted a "moderate" hike to a supposedly stunning viewpoint. "Moderate" apparently meant scaling a vertical goat path in 90-degree heat while being attacked by relentless flies. (Note to self: next time, bring bug spray. And maybe a helicopter.) I nearly gave up about ten times. The view was incredible… but honestly, not worth the agony.
  • Afternoon: Reward time! Dug up a recommendation for a hidden beach. Actually, found it! It was only accessible by a winding, bumpy dirt track (apparently, I enjoy punishment). But the beach was magnificent! Fine sand, turquoise water, and hardly anyone there. It was the perfect place to recover from my hiking trauma.
  • Evening: Explored Corfu Town. The architecture is beautiful, but also a little overwhelming. I got hopelessly lost in the maze of narrow streets. More wine was needed. Found a little cafe with live music. (Yes, I did attempt to dance, and yes, it was embarrassing.) Still, loved the atmosphere.

Day 4: Anna's (Maybe Very Sunburnt) Reflections and Departure (Probably in Tears)

  • Morning: Spent the morning at the pool. Sunbathing. Reading. Reflecting on the fact that I've successfully not murdered anyone with the scooter yet. Still a massive win. My tan is improving, although, I think that red patch is gonna hurt.
  • Lunch: More local food! This time, I managed to order something other than a random collection of menu items. I triumphantly ordered Mousaka and it was good.
  • Afternoon: Packing. The least fun activity. The thought of leaving this island paradise is making me want to scream.
  • Evening: Final sunset over the sea. One last swim in the ocean. One last glass of local wine. Saying goodbye to Maria. I think I might actually cry when I leave. This trip has been messy, imperfect, and utterly, utterly wonderful.

Day 5: Departure (I cried) and Post-Travel Blues.

  • Morning: Farewell breakfast with Maria, who gave me a hug and a bag of freshly baked bread for the road. I think I'm going to miss her terribly.
  • Airport: More waiting. More chaos. More longing looks at the endless blue of sky and sea.
  • Flight: Landed back in reality. The post-travel blues have hit hard. My new resolution is to book another trip… immediately.

Final Thoughts:

Anna Studios and Corfu? Absolutely worth it. Don't expect perfection. Embrace the chaos. Eat the fish. Drink the wine. Let the sun soak into your soul. And for the love of all that is holy, bring bug spray! (And maybe a translator. And a map. And a sense of humor.) I'll be back. (And next time, I'm bringing that donkey a carrot.)

Escape to Paradise: Anna Studios - Your Dream Corfu Getaway...? (Maybe)

So, is Anna Studios REALLY "Escape to Paradise"? Come on, be honest.

Paradise? Ooooh, that's a high bar, isn't it? Look, I wouldn't say it's *Eden* – no flaming swords or grumpy archangels. But... it's pretty damn close. Let me tell you, after a particularly brutal London winter, stepping off that plane and breathing in that *Corfu air*? Pure bliss. Paradise-adjacent, for sure.

Now, about the "escape" part... That depends on your definition. Do you want to escape *from* reality, like, completely vanish? Then maybe bring a good book and a willingness to unplug. But if you want to escape *to* something... sunshine, turquoise water, delicious food, the kind of laid-back charm that makes you forget what day of the week it is... then yeah, Anna Studios delivers. Big time.

What's the deal with the studios? Are they actually *nice*? 'Cause I'm not about that "bed springs sticking in my back" life.

Okay, so the studios themselves... They're not the Ritz, alright? They’re not trying to be. Think more... charmingly rustic. Clean, well-maintained, and honestly, more than enough for what you need. I mean, you're in Corfu! You shouldn't be spending that much time *inside*.

The kitchenettes? Functional. Tiny, but functional. I managed to whip up a decent breakfast of yoghurt, fruit, and local honey. The balcony? Essential. Seriously. Morning coffee with a view? Mandatory. Evenings spent with a glass of wine, watching the sunset, and listening to the crickets? Pure gold.

**Confession time:** The first night, I did have a slight freak-out. My inner neat-freak kicked in. "Are these curtains *really* clean?" "Why is the bathroom so... minimalist?" But after that first glorious sunset, all reservations vanished. You adjust. You embrace the simplicity. You stop worrying about perfectly folded towels and start *living*. And honestly, the beds were comfy enough. No spring-related back issues here, thank goodness.

Location, Location, Location! Where is it, exactly? And is it…accessible? (I'm thinking beaches, tavernas... the good stuff.)

Right, the location. This is where Anna Studios *really* shines. It's in a great spot – close to the beach (like, a *very* short walk), shops, restaurants, the whole shebang. You're not marooned in the middle of nowhere, which is a huge win. I got my morning coffee and fresh loaf of bread in under five minutes. Bliss.

Access? Pretty easy. The beach is sandy and lovely, perfect for lazing around. Loads of tavernas – some are touristy, sure, some are AMAZING. Do your research! Definitely explore the little villages, the hills. It’s a bit of a hike (literally!), but you'll be rewarded with spectacular views. Rent a car… or don't! I preferred walking (and a few taxi rides when my little legs couldn't go anymore haha!!)

The Beach! Tell Me About The BEACH! Is it crowded? Are there Sunbeds?

Okay, the beach. Ah, the *beach*. Look, it's the reason you come to Corfu, right? The Anna Studios beach is a stunner. The water is crystal clear, the sand is soft, and it's all just… *beautiful*.

Crowded? Well, that depends on when you go. I went in early June... blissfully uncrowded. Sunbeds? Yep, plenty. You can rent them, or just lay down your towel and soak up the sun. Seriously, bring your own umbrella because the sun *will* get intense.

**Here's my pro-tip: Get up early, grab a coffee, and walk along the beach before everyone else wakes up. Pure magic. I saw the most amazing sunrise one morning, and I swear I could have stayed there all day! It’s a moment I’ll never forget. One of the BEST morning I had in my life... So yeah, the beach is a big selling point, and it doesn't disappoint.

What's the food situation like? Tavernas? Supermarkets? Do I need to pack snacks?

Food! Okay, this is a *serious* perk of Corfu. The food is phenomenal. The tavernas are everywhere, serving up fresh seafood, delicious gyros, and all sorts of Greek goodness. **(Warning: you *will* gain weight. Accept it.)**

Supermarkets are readily available, so no need to pack snacks (unless you’re a picky eater). The local bakeries? Oh, the bakeries! Fresh bread, pastries... your weakness will be the baked goods, I'm telling you! The prices are pretty reasonable, too. You won't be breaking the bank eating out.

My recommendation? Find a taverna that's busy with locals (always a good sign) and order everything. Seriously! Try the local wine. Eat ALL the things. Don’t be shy! You'll thank me later. And whatever you do, get the fried zucchini. Trust me on this one. Life-changing.

Anything I should definitely AVOID? Any absolute no-nos?

Okay, let's be real. No place is perfect. Here's my list of things to **avoid**:

  • Overpacking: Seriously. You'll live in swimwear and a kaftan. Leave the fancy outfits at home.
  • Fast Fashion Shops: Corfu is stunning. You don't need to buy clothes.
  • Getting too sunburnt: I learned this the hard way (lobster red is *not* a good look). Sunscreen, people! Lots and lots of sunscreen.
  • Stressing about Wi-Fi: It's not the best. Embrace it! Unplug. Be present. You're in Corfu; you can check your emails later.
  • Trying to do everything at once: Corfu has great places to see, but you don't have to see everything at once. Pace yourself. Relax. Breathe.

Would you go back? Give me the honest truth.

Would I go back? Without a doubt. In a heartbeat! Despite the perfectly imperfect aspects, Anna Studios delivered a truly memorable experience. Seriously, I'm already planning my return. It's a place that gets under your skin, a place that makes you feel... happy. And in this crazy world, that's priceless.
